On the 11th of September 2019, numerous ASA members participated in a Mock Assessment Centre ran by our valued sponsor: Infinity Coaching. Students were given a valuable opportunity to explore how to tackle an assessment centre and further develop their problem-solving skills.
This session began with an informative presentation from Hoang Cat and CEO Shirley Gu on the key features of assessment centres, the importance of preparation and key skills required to succeed. Following this, Infinity Coaching ran a mock assessment centre that involved selected high-achieving participants to engage in a group case study, find a solution and present this solution to spectating students and assessors.
These students were able to display their problem-solving, communication and leadership skills as they generated and presented their ideas and solutions relative to the case study provided. Individual feedback was given to each student on their performance—highlighting their strengths and weaknesses and encouraging further improvement. The high-performing students were also rewarded for their amazing efforts. Lastly, the session closed with a networking session amongst participating & speculating students and Infinity Coaching representatives.
Overall, all students involved were provided insight on how to be successful in assessment centres held by major firms in the industry, making it a highly valuable event for all attendees.
