Professional Development Week 2014: KPMG
Last Wednesday a group of eager ASA members braved the rainy Melbourne weather to attend the second instalment of ASA’s Professional Development Week at KPMG.
First up was an invaluable welcoming speech delivered by Graduate Recruitment Consultant, Nova, which outlined KPMG’s point of difference and handy tips for success in the competitive application process.
Following this was an insightful discussion with one of KPMG’s managers in Private Enterprise Audit. The discussion ranged from overseas working opportunities to the day-to-day life of a Private Enterprise Auditor. Then it was time to check out the offices where members familiarized themselves with the KPMG building and gained a genuine first-hand impression of the daily life as a young professional.
Next up, was an awesome chance to practice interview style questions with the support of some recent KPMG graduates. This was the highlight of the day providing members with constructive feedback and the chance to get acquainted with the style of questions asked by KPMG as well as a general feel for the answers they are looking for. This definitely gave all members an unparalleled advantage in preparing for the application process with KPMG regardless if you were first, penultimate or final year students.
Overall, it was a great day and we would have to agree that it certainly exceeded our expectations!
