On the night of Tuesday 18 March, ASA, in conjunction with the Computing & Commerce Association (CCA) of Monash University, hosted its first major event of the year – the Q&A Evening. Held at the InterContinental at Rialto, the venue bespoke sophistication and was a perfect backdrop against which the one hundred attendees could interact with the professional firms present. This included an array of professional services firms and accounting accreditation bodies such as the Big 4, Pitcher Partners, CPA, ACCA and ICAA.
The night began with an hour-long Q&A session, with delegates from the firms responding to students’ questions and often speaking eagerly in succession, providing numerous perspectives and invaluable insight for the audience to consider. This was followed by a networking session in the foyer over canapés and drinks, where the enthusiasm of both students and representatives to interact was evident. Even after the official close, the networking was still going strong. Early feedback from both attendees and sponsors has been extremely positive, a promising sign for 2014. On that note, ASA would like to extend a big thank you to all those who came along and made the event one of our best!
